Empowering the next generation of African women scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians
Our flagship initiative focuses on empowering young women and girls with the skills and confidence to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and community support, we're closing the gender gap in STEM fields across Malawi.

STEM Africa Program Director
"When I was growing up in Malawi, there were few role models for girls interested in science. I was lucky to have teachers who encouraged me, but many girls don't have that support. Through STEM Africa, we're creating a community where every girl knows she belongs in STEM. Our students don't just learn technical skills - they discover their potential and become confident young women ready to change the world."
Dr. Banda holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Malawi and has worked as a software engineer for international tech companies before returning to mentor the next generation.
